Granted, I fell in love with his ballads album last year, which caused my ears to turn toward this disk. But it holds up just as fine. As a saxophonist, Pedicin comes through the tradition of the greats like Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins, with a beautiful warm tone and great creativity. This time it’s a live disk with a varied program and his band is up to the task.
